So people like Orson Scott Card can drop their shorts in public and foam, and I can roll around and drum my heels on the floor howling with laughter because, y’know, people like him are losing and I have to say it feels good. Damn good.
I can really sense that things are changing for us. But having lived in a very conservative state for most of my life (Texas), I am cautiously optimistic and hopeful that the momentum will continue. I now live in California, which is exactly opposite of my life in Texas. I am grateful that I can now marry my partner of almost 27 years. If Proposition 8 is defeated in California, this may provide the momentum that is needed.>>I hope that you and Kelley will be able to get married in your own state in the near future. If you don’t want to wait, you are welcome to get married in my new hometown of Sonoma.
Well, we’re waiting for the federal law, for the ‘Do you, Nicola Griffith, take Kelley Eskridge and all her social security benefits…’ And then we have a party. With presents.
