Yes, I like it too.I have to say that I am <>really, really<> fed up with the pro 8 adds. I don’t listen or watch commercials much, but the airwaves here have been so bombarded with this junk that even I heard it multiple times before I got wise. I do need to listen to the traffic report if I’m traveling to the west side in the am. As do others. It’s pricey time to buy, but that’s what they did – put it right before the traffic report. Saying stuff about churches losing their tax exempt status and kids in schools being corrupted.I’ll be glad when this election is past.Did you hear that Apple has donated some money to the no on 8 campaign though? Gotta love that.
I don’t listen to the radio or watch live TV at all. I simply can’t imagine how it must be to have that crap force fed to you every few minutes. Shudder. But this will all be over in ten days. Over, over, over!
I was pleased when my 17 year old nephew called me yesterday. He and his best friend had gotten into a fight with my sister re their denouncing 8 and calling it a hate bill. He needed to hear my support of him doing his own thinking. As you remember I had him for 5 weeks last summer and we spent a lot of time talking about forming positive values and making our values obvious to others.
Vicki, good for you. Good for him (and his friend). Do I take it your sister thinks Yes is a good idea? Or does she simply not see the proposition as hateful?
Ok, now I’m sick all of the junk mail I’m getting on Prop 8. Every day I’m getting something. The last few of days I’ve gotten one pro and one against. At least we are represented. Today, the yes on 8 flier had a big 8×10 pic of Obama on it. Quoting him as being against gay marriage. And on the back a quote from Bidden about how they are both against laws to support gay marriage. Fucking annoying. Then the no on 8 fliers are always nice and touchy feely good looking things.A few more days. I’ve seen polls all over the place, so who knows what will happen…On a good note, there are tons of weddings happening at the last minute apparently. Some of my closest friends have decided to make it legal. I’m going to a wedding Monday night, and some other friends of mine got married this morning at a court house.It’s kind of odd to me that there are no genders recorded on the marriage licenses, and so it can only be estimated as to how many same-sex marriages have occurred.
