Join the Impact is a new coordinating site for the fight for same-sex marriage. They list all the protests scheduled around the country for Saturday 15th November. Please take a look. Please consider attending something near you or at least spreading the word to the degree that you can.
The Seattle event is scheduled for noon in Volunteer Park–though if you show up early, around 10:30 am, there will be pre-rally festivities… (Thanks to Jill for the info.)
Do you think you’ll be going?
Sadly, probably not. I’m guessing it will involve much standing about and then walking–not really my forte. But I hope the entire able-bodied community shows up–the weather looks as though it will behave nicely. (Though Seattle weather tends to change fast, so it’s best to check the forecast nearer the time.)
I was thinking about making a sign saying I represent [n] people who weren’t able to be there in person. Alas, I won’t be able to stay for the entire thing either!
I’ll be going here in LA. The protests I’ve been to so far have been rather strenuous. Lots of people in close quarters. (which I hate)>>Today here at work I asked the other three people here if they’d heard about the protests. None of them had heard anything. Over 12,000 people Saturday night, others during the day Saturday, Sunday, and every other night since (and in other parts of the state as well), but many people don’t even know it’s happening. Unbelievable.
jill, it would be lovely to feel included, thank you.>>jennifer, I hope you’ll take more pix.
