A follow up on the world’s worst song post. The same people, Komar & Melamid, put together the most and least wanted paintings for a variety of nations. All based on polls. (The one above is what the US loves. Urk.) Almost all nations liked water/mountain/people from the old days/a four-footed edible scenes (the similarity is remarkable). Yep. I think next time I’m Europe I’ll pop over to Amsterdam. Haven’t been for years. I wonder if the Melkweg is still open.I think the Dutch just so sick of looking at Vermeers and Rembrandts etc. that they need the formlessness of abstraction. Plus the Dutch, y’know, don’t have mountains…

I have had nothing but coffee and a cinnamon role for breakfast so I cannot blame my comments on a too altered brain…I like the Dutch choice, BUT I see a red bell pepper,an eggplant, and a squash! I need away from my office desk…for a long time…maybe a very long time :)
