I admit that I'm an ignoramus when it comes to sci-fi, but reading the comment about Solitaire and Dangerous Space has me interested enough to go look for them.

I'd start with Dangerous Space, see how you get on with the stories and novellas. Enjoy!
I'm there. I have to give those guys credit for making the effort to find out about authors they've never read before. I found some myself.
