Jennifer Durham has made a splendid offer to help the Lambda Literary Foundation raise money:
Any calendar which is purchased from this point forward, I will donate $3 from the profits to LLF.
And anyone who orders 4 or more calendars will get one free.
Get ’em while they’re hot! Still time for delivery before Dec. 24th!
Go look at the pictures, feel the little muscles at the back of your neck relax. Stretch. Smile. Tell me which one you like best. I like February and October a lot, and January. All that space…
Go buy one (note there are two shipping options). A new generation of LGBT writers will thank you. Also readers, and experienced writers, and publishers, and critics, and distributors, and librarians, and bookseller, and editors, and agents, and book designers, and, well, you tell me: who have I left out?
[Addendum: what do you think of the giving categories for LLF? Jennifer D. thinks they’re boring. I bet we could liven them up a bit–for our own amusement, at least.]
I like your student/senior idea, “Let's see, “student/senior” could be “the butterfly just emerging and about to spread its wings”..”
I just thought it was interesting to see those two lumped together. Seniors and students are supposed to have the same amount of money – not much?
How about adding a $10 category or even a $5 one. They could be identified something like, “Feeling the Recession” and “Broke But Generous”.
Or, hey, just do away with the labels altogether. :)
Is there a difference in what you get in benefits at each of these levels? They sound pretty comparable to me. Maybe they should be stars, like on Amazon. Who wouldn't want five? Even if you have to pay for them! ;)
Yep. You get little gifts, things like bookmarks or signed first editions of that year's Lammy winners and more, depending on the amount you give.
Oh, now I see them. Your link doesn't show them but when you click Membership the link to the benes shows up in red. Weird. (Yeah, maybe they need that web designer.) Anyway, lots of stuff. I almost find that a turnoff, frankly. But that's probably just me. Except the books. Books are cool.
