Books placed in Howard Carters house in Luxor by a Friend of AN. Ammonite (and Dangerous Space) on Howard Carter’s desk! Apparently you can stay at the house for only $10,000 (that might be per week, a mere snip–there again, it could be per night). What value! All that and marvellous reading opportunity because they’re now permanently esconced.

I read that it's 10,000/night! (I had to look it up, because, you know, I'll probably stay there one day soon.) A real bargain, for sure – especially given the reading material now available.
People that pay 10K a night for a place don't read. They pay a reader, and then ignore what they say and twitter something meaningless (yes, that is redundant, but still).
