Up on Strange Horizons: a four-way conversation about Hild from critics (mostly PhD students in love with technical litcrit terms). I don’t always agree—and they often disagree with each other—and sometimes they’re just plain wrong, but if thinking about novels, narrative structure, and genre are your meat and drink, this is for you. It’s hefty, close to 8,000 words, but definitely juicy.
Let me know what you think.
I’d second Victoria Hoyle’s comment that she’d like to see this world through others’ eyes. I’d particularly like to share Cian’s viewpoint. I’d like to see Hild, “the woman I’m in love with” as well as Hild, “the light of the world”. So far she seems almost as much a force of nature as an actual human being.
But I’m pre-ordering volume 2 as soon as it’s available. It’s not like I’m actually hooked on the story, but….
Perhaps I’ll write some stories that parallel the main action in the books. Then I can use others’ POV…
Do you answer queries about other authors and their books?
Michael, it depends on the question.
